Iron Man is a cool Halloween costume choice that’s sure to get plenty of admiring looks from your young boy’s friends. The gold and red metallic looking costume allows them to perfectly replicate the look of the iron clad superhero and have hours of fun in the process.
Iron Man made his first appearance in a comic book in 1963. However, it was not until the release of the blockbusting Iron Man movie in 2008 that the character became a popular Halloween costume choice. Since the release of that movie, Tony Stark (the man who wears the Iron Man suit) has been featured in two direct sequels – Iron Man 2 in 2010 and Iron Man 3 in 2013. He was also featured in the highly successful superhero ensemble movie – The Avengers in 2012 and is due to appear in the sequel – The Avengers 2 in 2015. As a result, interest in Iron Man has never been higher and he’s sure to be a solid Halloween costume choice for many years to come.
The classic Iron Man costume features a gold and red full body robotic jumpsuit complete with a sculpted muscular torso and a faux arc reactor in the middle of the chest plus an authentic looking Iron Man mask. You can also accessorize this costume with red Iron Man gloves that feature a faux repulsor beam in the center of the right palm.
If your boy prefers a different Iron Man look, you can also go for the Iron Man Mark 42 costume. This costume is similar to the classic Iron Man costume but features more gold and less red. It can also be accessorized with Iron Man Mark 42 gloves which are similar to the classic red Iron Man gloves but feature a gold and red design.
Alternatively, if your child likes Iron Man’s sidekick, there are plenty of War Machine costumes on the market. These War Machine costumes are similar to the Iron Man costumes discussed above and feature a sculpted muscular torso and faux arc reactor but instead of being gold and red, they’re grey and white. They can also be accessorized with faux rocket gauntlets which slot nicely onto both arms of the costume.
Finally, if your young boy wants a more patriotic Iron Man costume, the Iron Patriot is a perfect choice. Again this costume has plenty of similarities with the Iron Man and War Machine costumes discussed above but has a blue, red and white American flag style design. It also has a slightly different choice of accessories and can be accessorized with red, white and blue gloves and a shoulder chain gun.
As you can see, there are lots of options out there when it comes to choosing an Iron Man costume for your young boy. There are also ‘Deluxe’ versions of all the costumes available, so if you’re prepared to spend some extra cash, you can treat your boy to a more authentic looking costume with additional features. With the current and future popularity of Iron Man, you can also be sure that this will be money well spent and it will be a costume that your child wears every opportunity they get.
